Thanks so much for the reply. Going to have a local shop do the repair. Mechanic states that the compressor body is leaking and recommended the unit be replaced. Plan is to evacuate the system, swap out the compressor and replace the o-rings. I recently replaced the drier with a Nissan unit and recharged with R12 after the engine was out and the shop needed to evacuate the system for replacement of the wiring harness. The a/c worked great but I imagine the seal around the crankshaft dried up once the refrigerant was out. I had the instrument cluster repaired and waited until I had it all back together before recharging the a/c. Hopefully a new unit will solve the issues. Will replace Schrader valves and the seal around site glass, too.
